We have a long history of soap making in Ghana from the different types of African black soaps locally called amonchee to the scary ‘dont touch me’ soaps of the 80’s that popularly gained their name because they would usually cause burn to the skin from touching them.
Soaps are one of the fastest moving commodities on the Ghanaian market with our traditions steeped in bathing rituals and a huge part of the population strictly taking a shower 2 times a day. As of 2010, we have been focused on empowering Ghanaians and our friends who travel to Ghana to join us in soap making training from other parts of Africa.
We have a soap making boot camp weekend coming up on 29th – 30th June. The soap making workshop will cover both theory and practicals of soapmaking. As always, our soap making training covers the basic types of soap as well as more advanced soap types. The 2 day training workshop will cover both cold process and hot process soap making methods.
The training covers making bar soaps, liquid soaps, African black soap and powdered soaps.
Registration Deadline: 20th June 2018
Location: Tantra Hills
Training Cost: 650 ghs locals $150 Foreign Students
Our classes run as a hands on practicals training.
Our tutors do not demonstrate whilst students watch. 🚨 no. No. ᑎO ᗯᗩY! Students always go through a theory teaching session before our practicals sessions where students in groups make soaps together.
By the time you leave you will have gained experience in making all the different types of soaps yourself. #ghanasoapschool
